About Anastasija

Hello! My name is Anastasija and I am London based illustrator and printmaker, trained as an illustrator on the MA Visual Arts Illustration course at Camberwell College of Arts from 2017-2019. I work from my home studio where I create designs for printing on fabric and fine art prints that are featured in my online shop (Etsy), Not Just A Shop (UAL) and Artfinder. I also run community drawing classes both online and in person.

Mythically and poetically, I bring femininity to the forefront of my narratives. Much of my imagery is concerned with human relationships, human condition, motherhood and womanhood. My content celebrates uniqueness in the role of the women in everyday context. Incorporating symbolism in my visual language, I demonstrate my point of view often referring to my work as a visual diary.  My work flows between a range of various mediums, most notably drawing and print-making. Narrative and spontaneous mark-making is a basis of my artwork that shows a love of pencil drawing, experimenting and pushing the boundaries.

Being a reflector type of Human Design I have been granted opportunity for a mystical life because of my openness. I’ve observed in myself ability to take in and reflect back the energy and emotions coming from my surrounding and it perfectly reflects in my art practice. According to Human Design specialists, Reflectors are here to “move humanity forward,” and I always seek for the distinctive methods and solutions.  I have strong observational skills and I am consistently using real life elements and playing with real life topics implementing some imaginary twist by using fictional and even surreal places and characters.

I have ability to work with both children’s and communicate adult topics in a visually pleasing way. My visual language is contemporarily refined, carefully balanced and sophisticated. I value my sketchbook work that is full of momentum and brings me much of the joy and inspiration.

In the past few years I have overcome substantial health issues and have regained my life back, becoming even more resilient, confident, self-aware and committed. I’ve changed my lifestyle to the point where I am in full control of my mental in physical health, showing excellent self-discipline skills. I am high raw vegan, and it’s very important for me to maintain the finest self-care practice. It has helped me to become the person I always wanted to be. I intend to achieve the highest standard of my work, improve and continue to learn and grow both personally and as an artist.
